Alpha Mani presents the Letter X, Y AND Z... It's a WRAP!

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** Today marks the end of a challenge that I had sooo much fun with. I got to use colors that otherwise would have just sat in my little (ok, HUGE) collection and would have been only loved once or twice. It actually forced me to go searching through my stashes to find brands that I never knew I had.  We are starting a brand new challenge next week that we are given a picture and we have to do a design based on that picture. I am a little nervous and VERY excited about this one. It will challenge me in ways that I haven't been, art wise, in a long time.  I am also going to try to catch back up with my Nail Challenge Collaborative group so I am hoping to show you some more nail art in the upcoming weeks because I have kind of strayed from that and that's where I started. I miss it!! For this design, I used 3 different colors and used some nail vinyls from KB Shimmer that I got as part of their Spring Line and I still love to use bec...

Alpha Mani Scrounging for the Letter U

Image
**Bought It** This weeks marks the tail end of this little alpha adventure. You see what I did there?? Anyway, I had one heck of a time trying to scour through my stash for a U polish. I did manage to find one lonely Ulta polish, so thank god for that!! I am already stressing about next week which is V. These are the times when I wish I would have cataloged my stash like a good little nail blogger! I am just going to have to start digging through the masses now, I guess.  Again, if you have any brand suggestions or polish name suggestions that start with V, you let me know in the comments below!! Anyway, I love this color. It's a super cool, sherbert looking peach color. I matted it and added some cute bow decals from YouPolish. I actually just picked up a variety pack plus a Mommy and Me pack from YouPolish so I will be using them a lot in my upcoming looks. Colors Used: Ulta- Peach Parfait

52 Week Challenge presents Crinkly Tape and Glitter Topper

Image
**Press Sample** I was so excited for this weeks challenge until I went to actually do it. I walked into my nail room and pulled out my box of nail art supplies and dug. I dug and dug and dug and found nothing that was crinkle tape. So, I had to get creative. What does crinkle mean to me. To me, it is what I do to my nose when I see something that I am confused about or a smell I don't like.I crinkle it. So, I cut my holo decal in a crinkle shape. Hey, I am getting waaaaaay creative here- walk with me. I made a crinkle shaped holo decal and then topped my black polish with a really great polish from ellagee called Festival of Lights. I love this polish because there are bar glitters, hexes, squares and micros in all shades of blues and silvers. I just love it. Colors Used WetnWild- Ebony Hates Chris ellagee- Festival of Lights YouPolish- Decals

52 Week Challenge presents Red and Gold Chevrons

Image
**Press Sample** This weeks challenge was Chevrons using Red and Gold. I love this combination for two reasons. First, I get to use gold. I have been loving all things gold so hard this winter season. I think it is such a great winter color and looks good with anything! The other reason, red and gold brings us that much closer to Holiday Nails!! I have been so swamped and I want so hard to get some tutorials in for you so, this is a good start. I actually used two different golds in this design. I tried to bring back some crackle on my ring finger, but it just didn't crackle. Maybe it's too much of an oldie! haha. Anyway, I used my gold Nail Art Pen/Brush on the rest of my nails to bring on the gold. I also used decals from the corner of my YouPolish sheets to make the perfect chevrons. The YouPolish decals I got for review a couple months ago and I have been using every single piece of them. Such a great investment! I am super excited about next weeks challenge bec...

YouPolish Mermaid Decals

Image
**Press Sample** A while ago I showed you a couple decals from YouPolish . I decided to show you one last set I have. These are the Mermaids in the color Lavender. I had so much fun with these. Just like the other decals that I used from YouPolish , these were very easy to use.   You can get these in one of 30 colors and they come in a sheet of 72 for only $5.50. Also, don't forget to check out her full shop as there are also great colors in their clearance section and you may even find some decals in there you can grab up. The colors I am using are JustRicas Whiteout and Ocean Warmed by the Sun by Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer which was used in a sponge design for the Mermaid background. I also used EcoPolo 2014 by Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer on my middle finger dotted with Ocean Warmed by the Sun by Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer. Have you used any decals from YouPolish? If so, which ones? What do you think of them?

YouPolish Sparrow Decals

Image
**Press Sample** Yes, another great set of YouPolish decals. These are Sparrows. How cute are these?? I have been reviewing these decals for the last couple weeks and I have loved every set I have tried. I have not had one rip or tear. That means that the materials that are used or such high quality. This is great because it means the money you are spending is worth it and you will not be wasting it on cheap material ripping when you go to pull it off the paper. You get your choice of 1 of 30 colors. The ones that I am wearing are in Arctic Blue. This is such a cool blue color. I am not usually a blue fan because of what it does to my skin tone, but this is really a pretty accent color on top of just about any base. When you buy these, you get a total of 72 decals on a sheet for only $5.50 and FREE shipping!! If you are interested in buying this decal, you can grab it up here . These were great to apply and super easy. No tearing or ripping due to the high ...

Showing Off YouPolish Decals Bows!!

Image
**Press Sample** I have been showing you these cute little decals that I have been lucky enough to show you from YouPolish. These are my favorite. They are cute little bows. They can be used as decals and stay on the nails or be used a stencils and painted over and then pulled off to show the outline. I love these. They are so classy and just enough to dress up just about any plain color. I am showing the color Mint. I have super small nails, so I did have to trim them a little. I like that they were long enough to fit nails of ladies that may have wider nails or that if I wanted to spruce up my toes, I could do that as well. Colors Used: Zoya- Emilia They come in a sheet of 75 for only $5.50. You can get them in 1 of 30 different colors. If you are interested in purchasing this specific decal, you can do so here .YouPolish has FOUR pages of different decals so if you don't love bows, she surly has something that you will love. She also has some Halloween de...

YouPolish Star Decal Skittle Fun

Image
**Press Sample** So, I have shown you several of these decals that I have received from you polish and I just keep finding more ways to use them. The ones that I have to show you today are the set of star decals that I received. I absolutely love them!! The fun things about these are that one the sheet they look like there are only two rows of bigger stars and two rows of smaller stars BUT when you take them off of the page, there are smaller stars INSIDE the stars. You are actually getting twice the stars that are on the paper!!! So, as you can see, you get stars that are solid and stars that are outlines. That YouPolish is AWESOME!! I used them as just decals in this design. I did use them as stencils in my Steelers design and if you want to see that, you can check them out here .  I also used the orange straight line decals to create the stripes on my pinky. I put them down, painted over them and then pulled them off to create the lines. If you are...

Let's Go North Hills

Image
**Press Sample** Yes, today I am playing the mom card. Most of you know that I am a proud momma of two kiddos and while I show my daughter often on here when we do her nails, I rarely feature my son. Today is his day. He is the kind of kid that has to work hard. He doesn't have things just fall in his lap He struggles and he works hard. His nickname is "my treasure" because he was my first baby and I had him at a young age. He was my motivation to keep my going. He saw me work hard. He saw me work through college and then push myself through my master's degree and work super hard to get the awesome job that I have now. I always wanted my kids to know what hard work means and how great the reward feels and he definitely gets it.  Well today I am celebrating one of those times where his hard work has paid off. He started playing football last year. Like I said, he has to put a little extra into everything he does just to be level with everyone so football...

YouPolish- Sexy M.F. Custom!!

Image
*this polish was won in a giveaway hosted by maker I won an awesome YouPolish giveaway where I got to work with YouPolish to create a custom of my own. I asked for a deep burgundy/red holo. I really really like this color and I have gotten a lot of compliments when I wore it. So anyway, I won this giveaway like- seems like years ago. I finally organized my untrieds and found it. I have never tried a YouPolish before and I was pretty impressed. The formula was slightly thicker, but very usable. I actually prefer this formula to a thin and runny one. It was easy to apply and only required 1 coat. I love these types of polishes because they last forever!!  Not only did I get to create this, but I also got to name it. I threw this out to one of my favorite polish communities and it was suggested that I find a genre, favorite book, favorite song, etc. I have always loved Prince. He is one of my favorite artists. So, I chose Sexy MF. I tried to find a video to share with you all, bu...
