Zoya Mallory vs Zoya Sia vs Essie Butler Please vs Wet n'Wild Saved by the Blue

Image
**Contains Press Samples** When I got the new winter set from Zoya, I noticed a beautify vibrant blue that I know I have seen before. I really do love this shade for all seasons and I was curious as to if any of my other beautiful vibrant blues came close to it. While searching through my stash, I stumbled upon 3 similar colors to Mallory I had gotten in my winter collection. All are a similar shade, but slightly different. First up is the original color that prompted my little comparison review. Mallory is a bright, vibrant blue. Zoya always has wonderful application and I thank that brush of theirs. Perfect width and length. Sia is from the 2015 Fall collection- Focus. It is described as a vibrant, royal blue. It is extremely similar to Mallory. Maybe a tad bit lighter, but very similar. They are both a velvety smooth, bright blue.  Butler Please was my go-to color for a long while. It is a bright, creamy blue. It is a little bit lighter than our previous example...

NCC August Challenge- NEONS

Image
**May Contain Press Samples**   I am soooo far behind in this challenge BUT I have had a suppper busy month! Work has been super stress-fully crazy, but it keeps me busy and pays the bills. Lol! Anyway, I really wanted to participate at least in this months challenge so I went for it all!  I'm using a whole bunch of different neon colors which reminded me that I don't have nearly enough. I think the whole Mentality thing put a damper on that, for me. So, I found as many as I could and went to stamp town!   Colors Used: Orly- Truly Tangerine KB Shimmer- How Low Can You Flamingo? Glam Glaze- Tubular Essie- Butler Please

Nail Art for Nubs presents Memorial Day Nails

Image
Happy Memorial Day!! This is a special day for me! One of my brothers is active military and fights for us every day! I am so proud of him and all that he does for himself and this great country. He is currently stationed in Florida- which is far, far away from us. While he is out protecting our country, he is missing all of the fun things we do as a family. He misses Christmas, Easter, family camping trips, trips to the beach, birthdays and more. These are just a short list of all of the sacrifices he makes to take care of us.  So, if you know someone that is active military you should thank them and think of them often. They miss their families and their families miss them. They put themselves in harms way every second of the day and ask for very little to nothing in return. There is no price tag on putting your life on the line for others.  For this design, I just did a skittlette. A simple, plain skittlette. Yes, I did say "skittlette". This is differe...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Skittles

Image
Yes!! This is such a great theme, because I love skittles. For this design, I wanted to throw in some decor on my nails that I have been dying to use   I really liked the spring feel of these colors together. The purple selection that I choose really was awesome. Purple is my favorite color, as you all know so I am loving this hard! For the design, I used some round dots from KKCenterHk. You can see my review here . Next, I did the checkerboard pattern on my middle nail. For my ring finger, I just used the BEGL solo- beautiful on it's own! Finally, on my pinky, I used the Lacquer by Lissa over the SC.   I have almost completed this entire months' challenge and I am really proud of  myself. These last couple months have been really tough and it has been a struggle to swatch a polish let alone do nail art. I kind of forced myself to get back into it because it was so therapeutic for me and I love it! I am glad I did because it really mellows me out at th...

Nail Art for Nubs

Image
I am sooo sooo sorry for posting so late, but my life is total chaos right now! I am juggling 2 different areas of responsibility at work, my kids are crazy and my husband just got back from a week of traveling. So, hold on! ColorMeSoCrazy will be back in full swing soon!! I even have a giveaway that I am participating in going on starting today!! I will throw up a little post tomorrow! For this week, I am totally repping some nubs because my ring and middle finger nails broke off :( Major boo!! I wanted to do a nice spring and light color scheme, so I stuck with pastels. I love this color combination. It's funny because the pink stripes look like they are a tan color. Which is what I was going to stamp on top of this. I may have to do another coat to show the true pink color.  Anyway, I hope you all enjoy my intro to spring!! HOPPY SPRING!! I used: essie- First Timer essie- Under Where? Funky Fingers- Sugar Plum Fairies

Nail Challenge Collaborative- Technique 2

Image
Since we are on a create your own technique kick. This was actually a failed attempt at the spotted technique with sanitizer spray. I ended up with kind of a splatter technique. So, I thought I bought the spray sanitizer, but it was actually  gel. I did my whole set up and "plop"- out came the plop of sanitizer instead of spray. Well, I had to keep going because I was already 3/4 of the way there. Sanitizer Splatter Technique: 1st- choose your colors and gather your supplies. You can pick as many as you want. I picked 2. You will also need paper towels, water, a cup that you don't drink out of (solo cups are good choices), vaseline or tape, toothpick or dotting tool and any non-spray hand sanitizer. 2nd- paint your nails with your base coat. You can use just white or pick really any color(s) 3rd- fill a cup of warm water. You need to pick the right temperature- just like water marbling. I air on the warmer side because by the time I am done prepping it gets down to r...

Throwback Thursday...wait?!? Saturday?

Image
So, yeah... Google Photo Editor failed me this week and has put me sooooo super behind on all my posts. So this is my Throwback Thursday. It is an Essie and Zoya match. I wanted to do a hybrid into fall. So the Essie is a very fallish color and the Zoya leaning towards summer, I think it makes a perfect combo. You will also see in a couple days how I morph this into a "technique" mani. I am not sure how I am going to do it, but it will be creative. Promise!! Also, if you have not checked out my giveaway post I have announced the winners. So check to see if your name is reppin' up there. Zoya-Zuza Essie- Carry On

Just for the Regular Peeps

Image
Ok, so I had my sister and mom visiting me this week and they were in absolute awe of my collection. I don't think they really got how fabulous my stash really is.  I told them that, "yes, there are 75 pinks. They are all different". That doesn't even begin to start to explain how my week was. I always love to see my family, but polishing is something that I am very passionate about and that with blogging are somethings that truly make me happy. So I am doing this mani just for them. I taught them about accent nails and all kinds of vocabulary that flew right over their heads. I let them run through my stash and made it clear that they don't touch my Nerds or Enchanteds. They painted their nails, I talked about the importance of nail care, base coats, quick dries and cuticle oils. I felt like such an educator!! Anyway, I am sure I will be repeating it again to them on the next trip! essie- Braziliant Jordana- Crystal Glitter
