52 Week Challenge Presents Purple Hearts

Image
**Nothing to Disclose** This weeks prompts told us to use purple and do some hearts. I am sooo not a Valentine's Day person and I am not sure why, but this is about as close as we are getting to Valentine's Day. I did a huuuuge Lovey Dovey series last year and I loved it because I showed you guys sooo many great products and I did a great giveaway, but this year I kept it small. I'm not one of those love haters, but I just don't care for the holiday. My family does celebrate with a fun little cooking day and we give each other little tokens of love, but that's about it. Nothing big and I'm ok with that.  For this design, I did a bunch of stamping hearts with a couple different plates. I used three different shades of purple which I think all go really well together. Once I put all the stamping together, I matted it all together. I love throwing a matte coat on just about anything and I think it goes really well with this design. What do yo...

52 Week Challenge Flowers with Light Blue

Image
**Press Sample**  This weeks 52 Week Challenge is Flowers with Light Blue. This was soo simple for me and I needed simple this week. I have a ton of fun and exciting things coming up for you guys and these next couple weeks are super crazy at work. So I am glad that this challenge was an easy one.  I used a couple different stamping images to get the flower designs. I went really simple. I like the look of it and I think it's kind of elegant looking. Although, the color combination is what I think takes it to that level of class.  Next weeks challenge is Purple Hearts and I have to make this one super fancy because it's my Valentine's Day prep!! I absolutely despise Valentine's Day, but I love all of the nail art around the holiday. Until next week.... Colors Used: Barielle- First Class Ticket Barielle- Enduring

52 Week Challenge presents Fish Braid with Non-Glitter Topper

Image
**Press Samples** This weeks challenge was super fun and I super love the way this came out. I love the color combo, I love the fish braid, and I love the way the non-glitter topper came out. I just love it.  So, a little bit about the colors... The prompt was to use a non-glitter topper. I immediately thought, "oh sooo easy". Yeah, not so much. I did decide to use a holo topper and my Fantasy Fire for this prompt. I think they worked out great. I haven't used my Fantasy Fire in a long time and I am glad that I dug it out. On top of the fish braid and non-glitter topper prompt, we also have to use our oldest polishes. That's why I dug that baby out. Anyway, I am absolutely going to use this one again because it looks so pretty over just about any polish. Evidence- look at these pictures!! Next weeks prompt is Flowers and Pale Blue. Colors Used: Max Factor- Fantasy Fire Zoya- Rooney Ozotic-534 Just Rica- Whiteout NOPI- On A Gilt Trip Maybel...

52 Week Challenge presents Fire with 3 Shades of Green

Image
**Nothing to Disclose**  For this weeks 52 Week Challenge we had to do fire with 3 shades of green. Well that's fun considering fire is usually NOT green!! I think I managed to get it- a little. Anyway, I just went with it.  I did a swirl design using three different shades of green and then did a little color blocking with a metal jewel on the tip. Next week we have Fishbraid using a non-glitter topper.  Well that's exciting to me because I can actually do that one!! Handling it!!   Colors Used: Sinful Colors- In the Mist NYC- Highline Green Sally Hansen- Brilliant Star

52 Week Challenge presents Film and Holo

Image
**Winnings** This weeks prompts are Film and Holo. Well this is certainly a challenge. I had no idea what to do for this so I went waaaay broad. Like way, way out there. I decided to do a genre. A film genre. Ok, get your creative thinking caps on here. My film genre is love stories. I once in a while enjoy a good love story. Now, this is every once in a while because I usually cry when I watch them so I limit myself. Today, my heart was filled with love so I went with it. I used my Color Club holos which I am still totally in love with. I try to use these as much as possible. They are really great stampers, too. Colors Used: Color Club-Beyond Color Club- Over the Moon Color Club- Eternal Beauty Color Club- Miss Bliss JustRica- Blackout

52 Week Challenge Presents Dotting Tools and Pink and Aqua

Image
**Affiliate Links** So I have been confused about what happened to the 52 Week Challenge and then I finally realized that it has been replaced by the 31 Day Challenge. Just for the remainder of the month, I guess. Well, honestly I don't have time for the 31 Day Challenge so I am going to continue with the 52 Weeker. Double thumbs up to the ladies that are rocking the 31 Day Challenge!! So, this week is Dotting Tools using Pink and Aqua. I think this is pretty similar to last week . The only difference is my nails don't look like some sort of disease took over and swallowed them. I did three shades of purple and it tuned out looking like amoeba. If you are looking for the easy way out for dots, you can pick up nail stickers and you don't have to worry about all of that jazz. I did something similar for Christmas and I really liked it so I decided to do it again but with a little twist. I kind of pulled the dots up in sections to make them go all the way to th...

52 Week Challenge Presents Dots with 3 Shades of Purple

Image
**Nothing to Disclose**  For this weeks challenge, I have a design that was waaaay better looking in my head. I had this brilliant idea to make this fun design with a purple glitter over a purple base and then do a three layered dot design over it. Yeah, it was better in my head.  I wanted to make this really abstract with different sized dots. Imperfection and craze was what I was going for and I think I got an amoeba looking disease looking thing on my fingers. Haha. Oh well, I made the challenge right? Next weeks prompt will be super interesting. It's something that should be super obvious, but I think it's trickier than it sounds. So, stay tuned to see what I have in store!! Colors Used: Funky Fingers- Sugar Plum Fairy Sinful Colors-Star Dust L'Oreal- The Mystic's Fortune An InLinkz Link-up

52 Week Challenge presents Red and Gold Chevrons

Image
**Press Sample** This weeks challenge was Chevrons using Red and Gold. I love this combination for two reasons. First, I get to use gold. I have been loving all things gold so hard this winter season. I think it is such a great winter color and looks good with anything! The other reason, red and gold brings us that much closer to Holiday Nails!! I have been so swamped and I want so hard to get some tutorials in for you so, this is a good start. I actually used two different golds in this design. I tried to bring back some crackle on my ring finger, but it just didn't crackle. Maybe it's too much of an oldie! haha. Anyway, I used my gold Nail Art Pen/Brush on the rest of my nails to bring on the gold. I also used decals from the corner of my YouPolish sheets to make the perfect chevrons. The YouPolish decals I got for review a couple months ago and I have been using every single piece of them. Such a great investment! I am super excited about next weeks challenge bec...

52 Week Challenge with Camouflage and Dark Green

Image
**Nothing to Disclose** Well here goes my first every camouflage design. I have been blogging for over 2 years now and I have never tried to do camouflaged nails. Now I know why. This was way more difficult than I thought it would be. I actually tried 3 different ways of doing this- like fully painting on the entire nail and then hating it and taking it off- before I settled with this one. When I was done, I looked up other bloggers camouflage designs and I learned there were so many different takes on it. So, the verdict is I need to practice the camo technique more? I don't know how often I will be doing camouflage nails, but I guess when the time comes again I will give it my best try. Anyway, I think this is funny that this theme falls perfectly in line with the week that happens to have the first day of deer hunting season here in Pennsylvania. The even funnier thing is that my child had off of school for it. I always thought that it was funny and maybe it's be...

52 Week Challenge with Brush Strokes from My Favorite Brand

Image
**Press Sample** This week my challenge was to do a brush stroke design with my favorite brand. Well I am doing my design away from home so I decided to add a little twist to this. With that being said, I am blogging from across the state so I don't have my usual set up. You get to have snow as the background! What I decided to do for this was to take the brush from my favorite polish brand and lightly brush it across the nail. I use this technique for the distressed look that I do often but with multiple colors. I used colors from Barielle and Sinful Colors becuase they are both really great brands. Barielle always, always has great sales going on and has such great colors. The quality of the polish is fantastic. For only $8.00 a bottle, great nail care products and options to do 5 packs how can this not be a great brand. I have never had a bad experience with them! The next colors I used was Boom Boom from Sinful Colors. I love, love Sinful Colors. for $1.99 ...

52 Week Challenge- Wild Animals using Yellow

Image
Whew, I made it back!! After a couple weeks of missing this challenge, I think I am back on track. These last couple weeks have been crazy at home and crazy at work so that just throws off my whole blogging life. While some of my posts are already set out, these are always "live" so sometimes, when my life goes a little wobbly I miss them. Anyway, I am sure like many others this week, I did yellow zebra stripes to represent my yellow wild animal looks. Wow, really creative (sarcastic tone). Come on, give me a break. I am coming back....slowly. Anyway, I think they turned out pretty nicely. The Maybelline stamped really well over the white. Next week, I am hoping to return yet again with a VERY interesting prompt. Stay tuned next Thursday to see what I have next in the 52 Week Challenge saga. Colors Used: Maybelline- Fierce n Tangy JustRica- Whiteout An InLinkz Link-up

52 Week Challenge presents 70s plus Grey and Color

Image
Wait...what?? Soooo. I was soo stuck for this. The only thing I could think of was peace signs. Really. 70s for me equals peace signs. I could not think of anything else to do. That was a little easier to choose than the Grey and Color part. That was what was throwing me for a look. These prompts sometimes throw me for a loop especially trying to tie all of them together. So, to tie 70s AND Grey AND color all together I went for a 70s color theme. I did an orange, brown, grey and teal. I did an abstract design on the first two nails and then stamped over that same abstract design done over grey on the last two nails. I did the stamping with gold because the 70s makes me think of big afro style hair, disco dancing and big gold hoop earrings. All peace signs and guitar stamps, all 70s and all fun!! Whew. This one was a little tough for me. I guess, it wouldn't be a challenge if it wasn't tough right?? Wait until you see next weeks prompts. Each set is like total ...
