Happy St Patrick's Day!!! Let it Snow Challenge

Image
Ok ladies!! Here it is! I decided to do a little skittles for the ol' St Pattys Day! I love glitter, we all know, and I was so pumped to put my pretty Hit Polish on. I have waited all year for this! I bought Blarney Stone over the summer and I just looked at it sitting in my untrieds until today! I wish there were more holidays that I could wear this because it is great! Not a lot of people like bar glitter, but I do! I love bars and shards and this is what this is, but with Patty colors. You all know my favorite Hit Polish is Party Shardy and Blarney Stone is that, but with different colors. Drool!!! Well I hope everyone has a fantastic day and enjoys this green day! Enjoy!   Sinful Colors- Time Off Sinful Colors- Flower Girl Sinful Colors- Call You Later Sinful Colors- San Francisco NYC- High Line Green Hit Polish- Blarney Stone Essie- Marshmallow

Let it Snow Challenge- Longing for Summer

Image
This one was tough for me since I am just not in the mood for summer yet. I'm pretty sure I have mentioned a million times how I HATE the winter, so I'm totally over it! I just can't get in the summer mood when I soooooo cold. Plus side, it's supposed to be close to 60 tomorrow! Whoop! So this was also the first time that I have used Purple Rainbow and I am in love! Dead love! The holo is sooooo pretty! I cannot stop staring! I hope you all enjoy this! Stay tuned for an all Purple Rainbow post coming soon too!!   Orly- Purple Crush Jindie Nails- Purple Rainbow

Let it Snow! Challenge- Winter Blues

Image
Ok so there's only so many "blue" manis I can do! Worst part is I think this was one of my contributions to the challenge. So I decided to do a depressing mani with gloomy colors. I did use a blue, but the grey on top kind of cancels out the brightness of it. Besides all that, I am really excited because I have been using Nail Tek and I can definitely see a difference! My nails are longer and stronger. Now I started using this about a week before the bar I worked at closes, so I'm still not sure if they are so nice because I haven't abused my hands lately or if its really the Nail Tek. I'm hoping its the later half. Now if I can only get the winter to stop killing my cuticles, I'll be ok! So anyway, I did a Saran mani for this weeks challenge. I wanted to do something that would really accent the miserableness that I think winter is! I think I got that!! I also added a tutorial and a pic of what I do to my right hand when I did this blog post! I did pretty...

Let it Snow! Challenge- Winter Ombré/ Gradient

Image
I was wanting to do a gradient with this challenge, but this week has been one of the worst weeks of my life. The bar I worked at and hung out at for 10 years closed!! I had so many friends, went to birthday parties, went to weddings, saw people come and go and to say goodbye to all of that was so sad. These people were my family. I could count on them to talk to everyday and count on them for a laugh when I was sad. We talked on the phone, we went to dinner, we laughed, we cried. We were truly a big family! I have been so sad and painting my nails are the last thing on my mind. So, in advance, I am sorry for my lack of excitement in my challenges! I hope you enjoy my Winter Ombré/ Gradient! Let It Snow! Challenge- Winter Wonderland

Image
Winter wonderland scene!! Screech!!! Simple, yet classic. I wish that I had gotten my new dotting tool before I did this, but meh. My dog has been eating my tools! I mentioned last post that my pup ate my stamper, too. Poop! Anyway here is my winter wonderland- snowy hills with some trees. When I think of snowy scenes, this is what pops up in my head. Enjoy! Let it Snow! Challenge- Hot Chocolate

Image
I am a little late for this one, but I had a hella weekend! Crazy!!! Bartending 12 hours straight- 8 of them being for a 300 person party is waaaaayyyy too much for me! I wanted to do some flocking, but with cotton balls. It looked a lot better in my head then it did on my nails. I do think its cool looking, but not as cool as I wanted. For a double challenge, I used a polish called Hot Chocolate!! Enjoy! Xoxo Hot Chocolate- Revlon

Let it Snow! Challenge- Snowmen!

Image
How fitting since it just dumped a bunch of snow on us in Pittsburgh! Although I am not going outside to play snowman, it's just waaaay too cold for me. I did a similar mani earlier in this challenge and I am so glad I get to rep it again! I really like my snowman and think he's sooo cute! I didn't do the whole pipe thing either this time. Again, my nails are too small to do all these fun things. If they were just a little wider, my art would be out of this world! I decided to use Jet Set to Paris as my background, because it is my 2nd favorite blue- behind Sation- Oceania. I was going to do a funky/trippy purple snowman, but I decided to keep it traditional. I also did some experimentation with 2 different lighting settings as well in this set. Let it Snow! Challenge- Icicles

Image
Keep it Simple stupid- that's my motto for now! Until I get better tools and longer nails, my detail will be limited! Well semi-limited! I really like this one a lot because I textured them to look like they were 3D. Of course, you can't see it in the pics, but they were! I really have been working hard on all of my contest entries, challenges, full time job, part time job and 2 kids. The number one question I always get is, "How in the heck do you have time to do you nails?". Well I always say, it is ME time and ME time is important. I will always make time to do my nails, even if i sacrifice some Zzzzzzs! You can never cage the beast here! I'm pretty proud of myself trucking through both challenges I am doing and the rando art challenge giveaways that I enter. I really like this group though! They are so supportive and always have great art! Fan crush on my group! Enjoy! Sally Hansen- Polar Bear Hit Polish- Aquarella

Let it Snow! Challenge- Fireside Glow

Image
Meh... I had the best, prettiest creation in my head! Yes, in my head it looked phenom! On my nails, not so much. I swirled a couples colors together to give it a rough, fiery look. I also originally added "fire logs" on my thumb, but that didn't work out so hot either. Oh well, win some/lose some. I really am going to try to put more effort an talent into my challenges. Thank you for putting up with my crappy challenge days <3  e.l.f.- Red Velvet Julep- Zoe Revlon- Hot Chocolate Sinful Colors- This is it Nail Art- Cocoa Hit Polish- Tinsel

Let it Snow! Challenge- Winter Solstice

Image
Winter Solstice. Winter Solstice. WINTER SOLSTICE?!?!? What the hay do I do for winter solstice? Well a good search was umm...0 help. The other ladies in the group had some awesome art and all of my ideas fell along the same lines. I really enjoy art, hand drawn art as opposed to stamping, that is. So I really wanted to do an ornate moon face or something really fantastic, but (my downfall, ALWAYS) I procrastinated. I have also been sick all week, so my creativity has dwindled significantly as well. I ended up just doing a gradient blue shimmer with a little glitter "solstice moon" on my thumb, index and middle finger. Meh- is my feeling on the relevance to the challenge, but I really am digging my gradient job. It took me several coats and dry brush strokes to get the best gradient look, but then again it always takes me a little longer. I have also started really moisturizing my cuticles, so I hope you are starting to notice a difference. I also did a little final experimen...
