The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Purple

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** Today's look is a mix between punk and glitz glam. I am so excited about this purple prompt that I went super purple for this one! A purple creme, purple matte, purple sparkle and a purple shimmer is what I included in this one. I wanted to a sporadic waterfall look. I would say a few months ago, everyone was doing waterfall designs BUT they were super neat and organized. Since this has a punk glam feel, I wanted to go for something a little more on the wild side. Colors Used: OPI- Can't Let Go Zoya- Giada Zoya- Iris KB Shimmer- Sarong Place, Sarong Time

Holiday Negative Space Mani for the Nail Challenge Collaborative

Image
**May Contain Press Samples**  In the spirit of the upcoming holiday, I decided to do something fun for the NCC challenge this month. I did a negative space Ugly Christmas Sweater. I was scared at first trying this, but I kind of love it.  I am using Neverland Lacquer nail vinyls in this design which made life sooo much easier. This shop has a ton of vinyls you can check out. You can even grab this set, too! The matte velvet looks awesome, too! What do you think? Do you love this? Have you ever done an Ugly Christmas Sweater design? Colors Used: Zoya- Amal Zoya- Honor Neverland Lacquer Nail Vinyls

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Inspired by Jewelry

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** So, I made it through 3 posts this month.... that's pretty good. Next month's theme is pets- Let's see what I come up with! I do have a few interesting pets in my household and hopefully I can incorporate them into this theme. For this design, I decided to have my jewelry design be THE most decorated item in the world. THE Crown Jewels. Sooo my design isn't exactly like the Crown Jewels but that's the idea. I did little crown designs and then added my own jewels. First I used KB Shimmer Sun & Games  to create the crowns and then I decorated them with loose gems. I also used This awesome purple from the new Focus and Flair Collection from Zoya. It is a Royal Purple to go with the theme. I kind of am in love with the color, a lot! Colors Used: KB Shimmer- Sun & Games Zoya- Lidia What do you think of this design? What do you think of these colors? I am super excited to show you the rest of this collection n...

A NEW Challenge!! EPaWC: Picture of the Week

Image
*May Contain Press Samples* I am starting a new challenge and it is suuuuuuper fun! We are given a photo of another members choosing and we have to do a nail design based on that photo. We each get a chance to pick a photo, too. It is called the ECOPOLO Picture a Week Challenge. ECOPOLO is the group we are in and it's for East Coast Nail Polish girls. We are a super tight knit group of girls that have been together for about 5ish years.  This is the picture we got for this week. Yes, it is not East Coast related... it is a beauuutiful picture of Portland. Portland happens to be one of my favorites places to visit and I missed it this year. I am so glad she posted this because it gave me a little reminder of how great that city is.  I did my best to recreate it but whatever crazy thing I do on my nails will never come close to this beauty. I used a whole ton of colors and I went waaaaay abstract on this one! I'm pretty happy with it. I can't wait to see next weeks...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Geometric Triangles

Image
For my second round of Geometric Design from the Nail Challenge Collaborative, I brought that neon! I did some taping triangles. I used striping tape to create some pretty funky triangles alternating upright on my nails.  These were really fun to do. I actually started to do something that was free hand little triangles with a totally different color scheme, but I trashed that and decided to save it for next week. My patience went out the window and striping tape came in.  I really thought about adding a matte coat to this, but I decided to let it go. I am in love with my matte polish so I tend to over matte. Wait.. there is no such thing as "over-matting", but I let it be glossy. I think definitely for my next look I am going to try for something free hand. I think it would be really easy to just stamp all four looks and I really want to challenge myself since I skipped last month. We shall see what my next week brings, but as of right now I am planning some f...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Geometric

Image
I am back after a break last month. It was tea party inspired so I am a little glad that I couldn't do it. The designs from the other ladies would have blown mine right out of the water. Each of them were beautiful!! Last month was super crazy for me, so this is a great palette cleanser for me. First up, a simple design. I wanted to do something simple because for some reason, when I think of geometric I think of 80s. When I think of 80s, I think of neons. I don't want to do neons this entire challenge, so I am starting off with a simple two tone look. Gray and black.  I used a design from the Dashica Big SdP-S. I really love this plate and I use it often. There are so many designs that I am going to be using for this challenge. I enjoy stamping and I see sooooo many ladies with all of these great creative stamping designs and then I go to do this huge stamping mantra and splat.... Anyway, I like this. It's cute and geometric and simple and fun. It does t...

The Nail Challenge Collaboaritve Presents REDO

Image
Ladies... We are getting down to the end of my flashback to my early days of blogging. There is a funny story about this L'Oreal polish, but I will tell that a little later.   First, you can see my original post up top there and "WOW" is all I can say. So, it's been 2 years since I first used both of these polishes and I am super impressed with how both of them applied after all that time. Hit Polish was one of my fist indie orders. In that 2 year time, Hit Polish closed and re-opened her shop. I am so excited that she reopened because I was sad to see my first indie polish maker close.  So, funny story about Now You Sea Me. I told my husband that I HAD TO HAVE a tiffany blue color. I original purchased Wet n' Wild I Need A Re-Freshmint and it stained the crap out of my nails. I new I loved the color, but that was not working for me. I sent him to Rite-Aid to pick something out for me. He choose this color. I was sooo proud of him for getting pre...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents REDO

OH boy!! Can see talk about the hand poses?? That was one of the hardest things for me to grasp. I finally got it when I just relaxed. Seriously! Even now, I catch myself getting a little "claw like" and I have to shake my hand out to relax it.  For this design, I used the same design, just altered slightly. Haha!! I don't know what the heck I used for tape in the original design. I know there is no way I free handed it, but I can't figure out what I used. Maybe scotch tape?? Anyway, the thick lines were super challenging. I had to put a couple pieces of my thin striping tape together to make the thick lines and that got a little crazy!! Overall, this was a really fun combination to repeat. I love the simplicity of the color combination and the fun stripes.  Also, I wanted to wish my little sisters JOLEEN AND CARLIE a very Happy Birthday. They are a couple years apart, but they were born on the same day. That's really crazy, isn...

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents Design REDO

Well ladies, you are in for a treat this month. Our challenge: recreate your first 4 nail designs. Well, I am scared. When I first started out in the nail world, I did a lot of simple designs. I tried to get creative sometimes and I just didn't have enough practice. So, now that I have had 2 solid years of practice, I should be good- right? We shall see... First up, Steelers Nails. I really debated skipping this because we are not in football season, but I didn't for 2 reasons. 1) I have to stick with the challenge.  2) My famous NFL Roundup will be starting soon. If you are a football girl, I do a link up weekly that you are share your teams designs. I started this last year and I hope to have many more join in this year. I will probably start promoting it very soon. Anyway, so here is the post for my first ever design. Don't worry, I have a great picture here below.   Well then... Anyway, For this design I used: ILNP- So Ghoul (my Steelers Hit Polish...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Black and White

Image
I am back for 2 weeks in a row!! Wahoo!! I actually had the privilege to have lunch with a couple ladies in this group and we had a great conversation about all of the wonderful and talented art that is produced from this group. This is one of the most fun challenge groups I am a part of. The expectations are really low and the involvement, while required, is very minimal. Not to mention, the group of girls are really, really supportive. For this design, I decided to do a black and white dotticure over my new matted out pink F*ck Off and Dye from Manglaze. Did I mentioned that I love Manglaze?? I am sure I have about 5 million times. If you have not tried this brand yet, you have to. In addition to me being in love with matte polishes, the CS is amazing, the bottle labels are bad ass and they have AMAZING sales.  Colors Used: Wet n' Wild- Ebony Hates Chris Sinful Colors- Snow Me White Manglaze- F*ck Off and Dye Now that I only have 2 more...

Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents- Skittles

Image
As some of you may know, this month is a skittles design for the Nail Challenge Collaborative this month. I am super, super excited because I love skittles. They are so fun to do and they fulfill all my randomness needs. NEON Skittles!! This is just for some summer fun!! I was craving some summer neon fun and this is what I got. I did a crazy stirping, layered design on my pinky. I just layered the Highlighter first, then taped and lifted, then the Hot Shot- tape and then the wet n' wild.  For my ring finger, I used the Wet n' Wild and then topped it with Love is a Battlefield by Frakker Lacquer. It such a fun, funky 80s polish.  For my middle finger I did a really fun checkerboard pattern. This was a little tricky to do, but I think it turned out really cool.  Finally for my pointer finger, I just did a simple dot design. It's kind of fun look and displays a 3D like design.  Colors Used: Love is a Battlefield WetnWild- Saved ...
