Easy Peasy, Lovey Dovey- Heart Nails

Image
For these days leading up to the official day of love, I have decided to give you all a little bit of EASY to pamper yourself and to MAKE YOU PRETTY! That is always my goal, "make me pretty". I want to explain this a little because it's not the pretty that you see on TV or in the magazines, it's the pretty that you see when you look in the mirror. I have struggled with seeing myself in anything but a negative light when I looked in the mirror. Blogging has helped me through this. Other ladies in the community encouraging me to keep going and complimenting me. So... my challenge to you is to do things for yourself. Do things for yourself and say "MAKE ME PRETTY" when you're doing them. My goal in bringing you tutorials and products reviews are to show you the things out there are that don't cost thousands of dollars and don't require diets or surgery, but only require a little "me time" So.... check my #makemepretty hastags to see how ...

GOT Challenge

Image
Well... We have done it again!! Well, The Crumpet did it again. I have to credit her for creating all the graphics and ideas for this challenge. So, the gist of this is to use your oldest polish. For example on 1/9 I will be posting a design with my oldest pink I own. It should be one that you already have used. The point is to give love to your older polishes that normally would get used once and then forgot about. All polishes used for the theme day should match that theme. So, for the 9th I am using a couple different pink polishes to make a great pink design. Below, I have posted the rules directly from The Crumpet blog. I hope you all enjoy and play along!! These are the rules from The Crumpet blog THE RULES * the polish you use should be at least one year old * if you haven't been a polishaholic that long, you can use the oldest polishes you have * the polish should be previously used, but if you're stuck, you could free a yearling from Mount Untried (s...

The pictures above are pretty spot on accurate with what the actual polish looks like.  Application - Very smooth. This is 2 coats with the Barielle Fortifying Nail Builder as a base. It was a very nice consistence. Not too thick and not too thin. This could have been opaque in 1 coat, but I just feel naked without my 2nd coat.  Smell - No unusual smell Price - $8.00 Overall -Did I mention that ALL of Barielle Polish es are 5 Free. Tri-Polish Challenge September 2 and Throwback all in One!

Image
....and I made it!! I decided to do a crazy tape mani for this one since I I wanted to try the whole crosshatch technique. Well, it took a little longer than I wanted...but I think it was worth it. Again, the challenge is to be given three colors- this month is Lilac, Blue and Pink- and then do 4 different manis with the colors. You must use at least 2 of the colors on at least 1 nail. You can use black, white, silver and gold as well. I always try to do at least 2 colors on all nails and at least 1 with all three. That is my little bonus I added for myself! As you can see above, these are the colors I am using again. Below is my little tape creation. I did three with a little crosshatch pattern and 1 with a plaid pattern. I also threw in the 1 solid for the throwback aspect!! The Maybelline- Shocking Seas is the only new that did not come from my un trieds pile. So-- for my Throwback Thursday I have Maybelline- Shocking Seas! Enjoy the rest of the visual party below! ...

Tri Polish Challenge- September

Image
I 'm back baby!! Ok, I am absolutely doing all four posts of the Tri-Polish challenge even if they are not on the correct days, I will force myself back into this. This month has been so crazy for me. My son started football which is 3 nights a week, then he has games and CCD on the weekends.  My daughter moved from a crib to a big girl bed and from diapers to underwear. My job went from calm to crraaazy. So, I have been going through this adjustment phase that is not smooth. I was just saying that I received my ILNP package and I didn't even have to want/need to open it. It took me 3 DAYS to open it. That is just a sin again the Polish Bible. So, I am going to force myself back into a routine... Back to the matter at hand. The colors this month are LILAC, BLUE AND PINK. So, I chose......   Sinful Colors- Candy Coated Sinful Colors- Boom Boom Maybelline- Shocking Seas

Grab Bag Goodies

Image
I got this pretty in a grab bag from one of the girls in a polish group, Rachael. She actually started a new blog recently- Polish For Reals ! Be sure to check it out. Anyway, I got this beautiful polish. I am not really into light pink, but I had to use a "momish" color for some media my husband was using my nails in. His words, not mine! I really love this color though. I am not sure of the name of is, but it is beautiful! I may have to start using more light pinks, especially while my skin gets darker in the summer. If you know the name of the this polish- please comment below so I can add it! Savvy

Bettina- Watermelon- Yum!!

Image
I have been on a mission to use a whole lot of untireds and I came across 3 little Bettinas. This color, Watermelon, is just beautiful! I get in these moods sometimes where I hop off the vamp train and hop on the Barbie train. I really like pink and on my nails, sometimes, I like it a lot! In this case, I love it a lot. Well enjoy! Julie G Gumdrops!!

Image
So I have this fascination with all the textured polishes and I WILL buy all of them just because I am in love with the bumpy feeling on my nails. Anyway, I picked up only 2 of the Julie G colors because I was not in love with the others. I will probably get them at a later date, but right now- meh. I really really really love this color. This may be a surprise because it is not vampy at all, but I LOVE it! I hope you all do as well!! Oh P.S.- you may want to grab a napkin or something to wipe the drool off when you are done.
