Color Me So Crazy

**May Contain Press Samples**  Today is a very important day in Pittsburgh Pa because it is the day that the Steelers put a whooping on the New England Patriots and then we move on to the SUPERBOWL!! I really hope the Steelers make it to the bowl because A) I want to have a party and B) the Steelers are awesome so they need another ring!!  I did a little mani to help cheer on my black and gold boys. I used a whole bunch of my favorite Pittsburgh themed polishes to create this Steel town pride look. I went for a crazy skittle so I could squish a little of everything in my look.   I'm super pumped about the game! I have my nails done, my menu planned, and my outfit on- including my knee-high socks. Now all we need is m boys to get their job done. **Bought It**Winnings** So, I tried to re-create the newest, hottest thing out there right now. The color shifting flakies. I thought that if I did opalescent, clear flakie on top of a multichrome base, it would have the same effect as a multicrhome flakie on top of a black base- WRONG! Well, I guess I need to go back to the drawing table. I do own a couple more flakies and I am insistent on winning this one. I have about two more ideas at this point to see if I can win at this recreation.  Don't get me wrong, I desperately need the real thing just because I think it is super cool. I just need to decide which brand I need. By this point, I have flakies from the first time they were cool, so I am on the search for something I don't have. And the right polish - this is  I Love Nail Polish Undenied, an amazing multichrome.  But wait, there's more - do you like glitter?  I have glitter!  This is China Glaze Put A Bow On It.  I love how it brings out more of the purple in Undenied. I used Wet 'n Wild Black Creme for the scrolls and Zoya Odette - both by itself and mixed with a little Revlon Spirit - for the flowers. You like shiny? This will be the week of the skittles! I have been seeing skittles with the solid glitter finger and then the other fingers to follow. I have been wanting to do these types of designs with the chevron and all that fun that are on everyone's fingers!! Well I am going to do a full week of skittle designs because I WANT TO!! Last week, was absolutely mentally draining for me and I need to take a mindless nail art break. Like I need to slowly bring my creativity back. Skittle will be the way to do it. Well, I fell in love with the Ulta Chrome Collection from ILNP. When I saw they were coming out with a holo version- I died a little. Of course I bought a ton during their pre-sale and got them on my nails ASAP. I love love love my Ulta Chromes, I however, do not love their holos more. I thought for sure my love would go to a higher level with the holo added to that. I mean that is a nail polish addicts wet dream. I color shifting holo?!?!? PURE SEX. I think that these fell short of the holoness. I think if ILNP would have added a little tiny bit more of holo it would have reached that "O-face" status. This did not for me! NEED MORE HOLO! So, this is my holo-chrome- waterfall mani. Yeah, don't try this one. It didn't work so well. It just looks like a nice multichrome instead of a waterfall. That's fine, though. Also, I have decided that it is this time to switch up the base coat. My nails have started to peel and break. My nails, like my hair, always needs a switch. It's like when researchers say that bodies become immune to antibiotics. Well, my hair and nails become immune to the products I use after like a month. I am always switching them up once I realize my nails start to peel. As you can see, or not, I started with the ILNP holo multicrhome and added the Color Club streaks, then the Orly to fill in.  Stay tuned for my Nail Art for Nubs ideas coming every Monday!! Yes, this is a great combination of all my favorite shades! I love dark colors. Like soo much that I even wear them in the summer :) Anyway ILNP has chrome shades which encompass those dark colors into one fabulous nail polish.I really love the holoness of this, but the holo-gradient is really hard!! Harder than I expected. I thought it would be much easier with holos, but it wasn't. It didn't blend as nice as I expected, I guess. Well anyway! We just picked the theme for next month and it is NOT holiday themed. This means you can see more holiday reviews and I can do some tutorials for you like I did for Halloween!! Ok, enjoy! Ok boys, we need a win today!! I don't want to cheer for a team that is 0 and 10000000!! Well, that's a slight exaggeration, but still. I decided to do a simple tape mani for this one. I would like the Steelers to do that same. KEEP IT SIMPLE!! Hopefully we can get this win and then I can get a little more creative with the art! Also, I realized today that I need to get it going on the Halloween art!! I have not done one bit of Halloween art this season! So, on that note, I shall leave you with this Steelers Good Luck mix!! White and yellow are put down as the base. I did the white on one side and yellow on the other.   I waited for the base to dry and then added the tape. I just did a random design. Then I put the black on top of the tape; all over the nail. I immediately pulled the tape off. If you wait too long, it will pull the black off with it. I usually do 2 nails at a time to prevent this.  Then I did my 2 accent nails with the ILNP glitt...

So, when I got the email from ILNP about their pre-sale on their chromes, of course I jumped on it. I picked up three colors which also happen to by my first ILNPs. They have a lot of great colors, but I am really over the clear base glitters and want an all-in-one combo to make it easier to slap on and go. These chromes just looked gorgeous. There was pretty fast delivery after I got the shipping conf and the packaging was gorg!! Super cute with the colored and custom tissue paper- I'm still debating if it was worth the steep shipping cost or not. For now, I'll keep it as it's CUTE... Anyway, the shift is very pronounced and the best part about this polish is that there is no need for undies. You all know how I like my polishes to be wham, bam, thank you mam. Well, this was pretty close. I have 2 coats on in the pics below. Cool thing about the chromes is that the lean to a variety of colors in different lighting.
