Christmas Tree Nails- How To

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** I have not done a quick tutorial for you guys in so long. I decided to bring it back for one of my favorite, easy holiday designs. It's perfect to dress up any nails and super easy to do! I started with a white base coat on an accent nail. Once my base coat dried, I taped it off. I did a v-shape outline for the edges of the tree. Next I used a skinnier tape to do a criss cross pattern down to the edge of the nail.  Once all of my tape was in place (as you can see it wasn't sticking for me), I added a green color on top of the tape. The area that I was doing my nails in was quite chilly so that is probably why all of my tape was curling. It's kind of important to do your nails in a warmer area so the polish and accessories work well with you.  Once you applied all of your green color, remove the tape. You will be left with a tree looking shape. Now you are ready to decorate!  This is where you get to be creative! You can...

Representing MY Steeler Pride

Image
**May Contain Press Samples**  Today is a very important day in Pittsburgh Pa because it is the day that the Steelers put a whooping on the New England Patriots and then we move on to the SUPERBOWL!! I really hope the Steelers make it to the bowl because A) I want to have a party and B) the Steelers are awesome so they need another ring!!  I did a little mani to help cheer on my black and gold boys. I used a whole bunch of my favorite Pittsburgh themed polishes to create this Steel town pride look. I went for a crazy skittle so I could squish a little of everything in my look.   I'm super pumped about the game! I have my nails done, my menu planned, and my outfit on- including my knee-high socks. Now all we need is m boys to get their job done. As most Mondays go in the city of Pittsburgh, it's a 50-50 on how the mood will be. Either gloomy and sad or upbeat and happy! Here we gooooooo   Colors Used: KBShimmer- A Hint of Manila ILNP- So Gh...

More Holiday Nails from The Nail Challenge Collaborative

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** This is my second and final design for the Nail Challenge Collaborative Holiday Season nails. These are my little prayer to the snow God to get a little bit of snow on Christmas. We haven't had a white Christmas in so long, so I am hoping we will get a little bit of it this year.  For this look, I stamped snowflakes in different sizes and colors. Of course, I have been doing different designs for the last couple weeks so I hope you have been tuning in on Snapchat to check them out. You will be able to see my latest @colormesocrazy!! Fall Foliage Nails

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** I decided to throw out some Fall inspirations on my nails. I have three major trees in my yard and they let down about three times. That means that I have a ton of leaf cleanup to do during the duration of the Fall. I hate doing it, but it is great exercise.  I used a simple leaf stamp that I picked up at Big Lots (yes, I did say Big Lots). I used a couple different colors and used different pressures to pick up the color to put a little texture on the leaf. I haven't played with my stamps in a while, so I am glad that I broke this out.  Colors Used: Cosmetic Arts- Hunter Green Sinful Colors- Let's Meet Butter London- Yummy Mummy Revlon- Hot Chocolate Sally Hansen- Electra-cute

Pinktober Nails for The Survivors

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** Ok, I know I am getting these in at the tail end of the month, but better late than never! As some of you may of may not know, I had a breast tumor removed about 6 years ago. I was 8 months pregnant when I had my lumpectomy. It was a very rare tumor that, thankfully, was able to be removed fully. It was found when I was three months pregnant, but couldn't be removed until I was in my third trimester. That was one of the scariest times in my life.   For this mani, I went full on Sinful Colors. I used RADiant as my base then Pink Break and 24/7 as the accent dots. I wanted to do something fun, simple and I would be able to wear all week. RADiant is a demi-matte and I just love that creamy muted look.  I miss doing my nails with fun designs, but I am super excited for the upcoming holidays and I can't wait to dive into the fun art to follow! Next... a little bit of fall and Halloween! Colors Used: Sinful Colors- Pink Break Sinful C...

Red Coat Tuesday

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** For this season of Pretty Little Liars, I am going to do my best to continue the Red Coat Tuesday looks but I've been going through some crazy things at work. So... I will try my best! This week, I am showing off a look that I did last season and did not get to use it.  This is a simple stamped, jelly sandwich look using some of my favorite red polishes. I tend to always pull out the same ones when I am doing the RCT looks and on my next one, I am going to *try* to use some different ones. I just know these will work for what I am going for. Full disclosure here.. I will be watching last weeks episode as well as this weeks tonight because I missed it! I had to go to bed early because I was waking up at 3:30 in the morning the next day for a flight so I didn't get to see all of it. White Polish- I Can't Get Enough and You Shouldn't Either!!

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** I am such a vamp polish girl and I usually stay away from all colors that even lean towards a light color. Well that is until I took a throwback to the late 90s and decided to fall back in love with white nail polish. I have been loving just plain white for the Spring and I literally cannot get enough of it! I wanted to share some of the whites that I have in my collection so that you can hop on the white polish fad train, too! The Nail Challenge Collabrotive presents Typography

Image
**Bought It** Ok.... I wanted to go waaaay outside the box for this one and I did. Typography is the theme and I wanted to stick with it so I went for some gems and a single letter.  "C" for Color Me So Crazy is as creative as I could go for this one. I tried to free hand and it just went downhill, so this was the backup plan. I have one more prompt to do for this one and I have no idea what I am going to do. I have about a week to decide so... if you have any suggestions, please leave them below. Maybe I'll have a magical day and try to freehand again! Colors Used : Sinful Colors- Mesmerize Victoria's Secret- Dream On

Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Typography

Image
**May Contain Press Samples** Today we start a new theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative. Since I horrible handwriting to begin with, I am going to rely heavily on decals and stamping. I am, well I am going to try, to do a freehand but if it looks horerendous, it probably won't end up here. You'll only get a peep on SnapChat (szizzy12184). I used water slide decals for this look. They are just conversation bubbles in a cartoon style. My nail beds are super super small, so you will never enjoy the full conversation but you will only get bits and pieces of the conversation... lol. I went for a funky neon set of colors and I love the way they came out. I am a vampy girl at heart but I wanted something bright and fun to get me out of the funk I have been in. Do you like the bright colors? What do you think of this month's theme? Colors Used: Sinful Colors- Why Not? Glam Glaze- Tubular KB Shimmer- Sarong Place, Sarong Time Clubbing Girl- Club Girl ...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents PURPLE!

Image
**May Contain Press Samples**  Yasssss!  My favorite color in the entire world!! I was super stoked when they announced this month's theme. So super stoked that I decided to do a super fun purpled-out design.  I used three different purples and then stamped some cute swirly designs on top. Bonus.... I got a new stamper from Bundle Monster. It's a big squishy one and I am in love. All of my plates pick up soooo much nicer. Thanks for the suggestion guys!  I kind of love the creme and shimmer mixed together here. I used the saran mani underneath to create some texture. I've been seeing them everywhere again and I've had an itch to do one so here it is.  Colors Used: Sinful Colors-Mesmerize Sinful Colors- Truth or Lavendare Santee- Baby Purple
