Image
Last Day of the Tri-Color Challenge...ha- just for these colors! I am getting pumped up for Aprils colors! I am going to get more brave with my designs.I love nail art and now that my nails are a little stronger, Im hoping they grow!?! Anyway I did the dot-in-a-dot mani. I think it looks more like a Cheetah pattern, but I dig it. If any of you have any ideas for my upcoming Tri-Polish designs, please let me know!! Oh... I almost forgot! Have a great Easter!!   NYC- High Line Green Sinful Colors- Amethyst L'Oreal- Tangerine Crush

Drugstore Week Highlight

Image
So for one of the groups I am in we did drugstore brand week themed manis and this is one of them that I did. I did a gradient on my thumb, pointer and middle and then just did a mini gradient with the gold Milani holo on the other two. I really liked the L'Oreal color. L'Oreal is one of my favorite drugstore brands. I usually can get a really good deal on these with coupons and sales my local grocery store always has. I love the formula and I love their colors. I only have a few Milanis and I am still not convinced on their formula. It just seems a little watery for me. I really like the Milanis dark vampy colors. We all know, those are my favorite shades- the darker the better! As you can also see my poor cuties are really suffering with the dry weather. I have been lotioning, oiling and covering and it seems that nothing is helping. So.... I have just have to hang on until this horrible-for-my-nails weather is over...Enjoy all!! Interlocking Dots!

I've been wanting to try this mani for quite some time now. I finally found the colors I wanted to use. There was a vendor that came to my work selling make up and also NAIL POLISH!! $2 for Essie and OPI and $1 for everything else. I picked up about 30+ polishes! I will post a haul pic, but I used one I bought for this mani. This is also my first time using and OPI matte. I am in love with the way these babies turned out! I had to look at a picture of these nails to keep myself from getting confused when I did them. I know, sounds dumb, but you'll see what I'm talking about when you do it. So you pick 2 colors. Contrasting colors are the best. You paint your entire nail with 1 color. Using the lighter color would probably be the best. Once they dry, use the other color to paint half of your nail diagonally. This is where it gets tricky. Start with making dots overlapping with 1 color on the diagonal line. Once you have those, you rows of dots until you finish that half of ...

So I decided to get my creative juices running again by enrolling the help of my son! He has such a great creative mind and I needed him to share. It old him to go pick something for me to do my nails with. He was really confused at first and thought that I actually wanted to paint my nails with what he was to pick. I explained a little and he hopped right on board! He pick this little super hero guy! Perfect start for me! He picked out the colors that he thought would match the guy. He told me how to design my nail and presto! This is what we got. Good job Trey!! Jindie Nails- Burrrberry

Are you kidding me?? Ok for real- for real real. Just a little disclaimer- I do not get free nail polish. I don't get paid to say nice things about indie polishes. I don't give glowing reviews just because I like the seller. I tell the truth in my blog posts and when I like something I say so as the same with something I don't like. This is the 2nd full mani I did with Jindie Nails and now, finally, I get the obsession. This polish is great. I posted pics with ONE coat and NO fishing. When I say NO fishing, I mean dip the brush in and take it right out to apply. I am super impressed. If you can't tell! The next pictures are with 3 coats (just for the jelly shit of it) and a top coat. Gorg, right?? Oh yes!! Enjoy and stay tuned for more of my Jindie love affair. Jindie Nails- Burrrberry

Let it Snow! Challenge- Snowflakes

Image
Welcome winter!! This is the first post/ challenge since the new challenge started. Wait until you see the line up we have in store! So, I was dreading this because most of my art is cartoonish and snowflakes are the exact opposite. They are dainty and soft. When I started, I was so nervous. I'm exhausted and I even said I may fall asleep and wake up with a polish snowflake on my forehead! To my surprise they turned out AWESOME!! I looooove these! My nails are so little (length wise and small fingers) so it was hard to draw more than one on each nail. Winter is a coming! Enjoy!! Orly- Stone Cold NYC- Starry Silver Glitter Hit Polish- Aquarelle CoverGirl- White Out the Door I absolutely looooove this color and everyone should know it!! Orly-Stone Cold

5th Time Wearer- Literally!!

So I got these colors from Marshall's for a good deal and this lovely model has a mutual love for their namer. Well, maybe she loves him more than I do, but we both a weird love for the Biebs. I told her I picked up these colors and one thing led to another and I ended up doing a quick mani at the office today! The plus side is she literally had maybe 5 polishes in her LIFE!! That's just crazy to me. Mairin was a great sport and probably did it just to make me smile, but it was awesome. Steelers Sunday

Image
Welcome to Steelers game day yet again!! We will need a little extra love this week since our THIRD string quarterback is starting, but we playing probably the worst team in the entire league- the Browns...BOOOOO... (no offense Browns fans, its a Steelers thing) Need I say more?!? I will leave the football talk there and continue with some nail talk. So, I did a Saran mani for a challenge last week and I wanted to give it another go. I used two dark colors for my challenge and I figured the *awesome* black and yellow would contrast nicely. I added some white as well. For all the fingers (except my ring finger) I started with a black base and "saraned" a yellow and white on top. For the ring finger, I started with a white base and "saraned" the black and yellow on top. I added the black tip for that "crazy" effect that makes me Color Me So Crazy!
