The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents Geometric Triangles

Image
For my second round of Geometric Design from the Nail Challenge Collaborative, I brought that neon! I did some taping triangles. I used striping tape to create some pretty funky triangles alternating upright on my nails.  These were really fun to do. I actually started to do something that was free hand little triangles with a totally different color scheme, but I trashed that and decided to save it for next week. My patience went out the window and striping tape came in.  I really thought about adding a matte coat to this, but I decided to let it go. I am in love with my matte polish so I tend to over matte. Wait.. there is no such thing as "over-matting", but I let it be glossy. I think definitely for my next look I am going to try for something free hand. I think it would be really easy to just stamp all four looks and I really want to challenge myself since I skipped last month. We shall see what my next week brings, but as of right now I am planning some f...

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents REDO

Image
OH boy!! Can see talk about the hand poses?? That was one of the hardest things for me to grasp. I finally got it when I just relaxed. Seriously! Even now, I catch myself getting a little "claw like" and I have to shake my hand out to relax it.  For this design, I used the same design, just altered slightly. Haha!! I don't know what the heck I used for tape in the original design. I know there is no way I free handed it, but I can't figure out what I used. Maybe scotch tape?? Anyway, the thick lines were super challenging. I had to put a couple pieces of my thin striping tape together to make the thick lines and that got a little crazy!! Overall, this was a really fun combination to repeat. I love the simplicity of the color combination and the fun stripes.  Also, I wanted to wish my little sisters JOLEEN AND CARLIE a very Happy Birthday. They are a couple years apart, but they were born on the same day. That's really crazy, isn...

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents Design REDO

Image
Well ladies, you are in for a treat this month. Our challenge: recreate your first 4 nail designs. Well, I am scared. When I first started out in the nail world, I did a lot of simple designs. I tried to get creative sometimes and I just didn't have enough practice. So, now that I have had 2 solid years of practice, I should be good- right? We shall see... First up, Steelers Nails. I really debated skipping this because we are not in football season, but I didn't for 2 reasons. 1) I have to stick with the challenge.  2) My famous NFL Roundup will be starting soon. If you are a football girl, I do a link up weekly that you are share your teams designs. I started this last year and I hope to have many more join in this year. I will probably start promoting it very soon. Anyway, so here is the post for my first ever design. Don't worry, I have a great picture here below.   Well then... Anyway, For this design I used: ILNP- So Ghoul (my Steelers Hit Polish...

More 'Merica Nails

For this design I wanted to do American flags and use all different mediums. Last year, I did a sugar spun flag, so I wanted to expand a little and see what other technique I could use to create a flag. I used striping tape to make a nice crisp striped design on my index finger. Next, I did my original sugar spun flag on my middle finger. For my ring finger, I did a dot design and finally for my pinkie I did a water marble.  My pinkie was IMPOSSIBLE to perfect and I wanted to back out as soon as I started. It was super difficult to get the "stars" area defined. Striping tape, sugar spun and dots were all super easy to do, but the water marbling- what was I thinking?  Anyway, what do you think of my multi-medium flag design?? Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents- Skittles

Image
As some of you may know, this month is a skittles design for the Nail Challenge Collaborative this month. I am super, super excited because I love skittles. They are so fun to do and they fulfill all my randomness needs. NEON Skittles!! This is just for some summer fun!! I was craving some summer neon fun and this is what I got. I did a crazy stirping, layered design on my pinky. I just layered the Highlighter first, then taped and lifted, then the Hot Shot- tape and then the wet n' wild.  For my ring finger, I used the Wet n' Wild and then topped it with Love is a Battlefield by Frakker Lacquer. It such a fun, funky 80s polish.  For my middle finger I did a really fun checkerboard pattern. This was a little tricky to do, but I think it turned out really cool.  Finally for my pointer finger, I just did a simple dot design. It's kind of fun look and displays a 3D like design.  Colors Used: Love is a Battlefield WetnWild- Saved ...

Nail Art for Nubs

Yes... I am back. It's been a couple weeks since I have participated and I am back on track. I have finally made a schedule for all my challenges, un-useds and reviews. We shall see how long it lasts, though. For this design I decided to do a taped- french design. I used striping tape on the tips in a criss cross pattern and then just used the striping tape on the middle finger. This design was really easy to do. 12 Days of Christmas Candy Cane Tutorial

Image
So, here is yet another easy Christmas tutorial to do. It's my candy cane tutorial. The fun thing about this is there are sooooo many patterns you can do for candy canes. There are rainbow candy canes, candy canes with only thick lines, small candy canes, you get my point. So as long as there are some color and lines, you can make candy canes. Polish Used: Sinful Colors- Snow Me White Sinful Colors- Ruby Ruby KBShimmer- I Only Have Ice for You Step 1: Paint your nails with your base color. I chose white because I am going for the traditional candy cane color.   Step 2: *Optional* I added a little silver holo glitter just for the fancy smancy of it. This is not necessary, but just a little addition to make it ColorMeSoCrazy Step 3: I added striping tape in the pattern that I wanted. Don't forget that where you do not put the tape, your top color will show. For this pattern, I will decided to do some thick and skinny red stripes as well as a thick and ski...

Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Challenge

Image
Yes! As many of you saw my post earlier about the great challenge I started. I am playing catch up so, I started with the full post for day 2! The theme for this was green. I decided to do some vertical stripes for this one. I then decided to add a little jelly to it. So..... I redid them with Nostalgic Nail Lacquer underneath Sinful Colors San Francisco. This worked out greeeaaattt! The Sinful was just sheer enough to pick up the glitter in the Nosty. I also have it under the striped accent nails. So, if you look carefully you can see it between the lines. Stay tuned for Day 3 which is on the 6th and it's GLITTER!! Wait for the bomb I will have!! Tri-Polish Challenge September 2 and Throwback all in One!

Image
....and I made it!! I decided to do a crazy tape mani for this one since I I wanted to try the whole crosshatch technique. Well, it took a little longer than I wanted...but I think it was worth it. Again, the challenge is to be given three colors- this month is Lilac, Blue and Pink- and then do 4 different manis with the colors. You must use at least 2 of the colors on at least 1 nail. You can use black, white, silver and gold as well. I always try to do at least 2 colors on all nails and at least 1 with all three. That is my little bonus I added for myself! As you can see above, these are the colors I am using again. Below is my little tape creation. I did three with a little crosshatch pattern and 1 with a plaid pattern. I also threw in the 1 solid for the throwback aspect!! The Maybelline- Shocking Seas is the only new that did not come from my un trieds pile. So-- for my Throwback Thursday I have Maybelline- Shocking Seas! Enjoy the rest of the visual party below! ...

Independence Day Art Work

Image
Happy 4th of July. Americas Independence Day! July 4, 1776 is when America declared Independence from Great Britain. On this day, we eat tons of hot dogs, set of tons of fireworks, and wear the colors of our country- red, white and blue. I am bringing you three different manis for this holiday. My brother is in the military so these kinds of holidays are especially dear to me, as I am super proud of him and his brave decision to defend my Independence and all that comes with that so I don't have to! PS... This is pic heavy, but think of it as a bunch of fireworks of nails floating up your screen! Be safe and have a great day! The first set is my stamping mani. For this one I used OMG- Indian Red as my undies and Liquid Lacquer- Sparkly AF! as my topper. For this mani I also stamped, but I added some striping tape and a gradient effect on my first two fingers.  The last and final mani is the best one- I think! Just like the finale of fire...
