Zoya MatteVelvet 2015 Winter Collection

**Press Sample**

Now that Halloween is over and Thanksgiving- my all time FAVORITE holiday- is upon us, we have all of the winter collections coming up. First up, I have Zoya. There are 6 colors in this collection and they are so cozy and perfect in their matte form. I am such a big matte fan so I am a big fan of this collection. I would say classic but fun is the theme of the colors in this collection. Don't forget, you can snatch this entire collection for $60 or individually for $10.

Aspen
First up, I have a beautiful snow white color. Aspen is described as a, " sparkling arctic white with a micronized diamond pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish" from Zoya.com

I cannot wait to use this in my upcoming winter and Christmas themed designs. It is perfect for snowflakes!
This went on really nicely and I didn't have any issues with staining or removal. I used 2 coats to cover up any bald patches I may have had.

Amal
Here is another great holiday color! This is a bright ruby red and of course it is flecked with red pearls throughout.
This is such a vibrant color and I love that there is a red in this collection. I also love that it is a deep, almost cranberry leaning red. Not too bright and not too vampy. Perfect for some Santa manis later on!
Since this is such a rich, vibrant color be sure to put down a layer of base coat. You want to make sure you don't have any left over color staying on your nails. I didn't have any staining issues but if you don't protect them, you may.
Honor
Here is the third of the Christmas trio- lol! I didn't mean to put them in this order and I didn't realize it until now but what a perfect holiday trio!
Anyway, Honor is described as a,  "true emerald green with a tone on tone emerald pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish" from Zoya.com.
I am so not a green girl, but this is such a pretty color. it reminds me of the Christmas trees and garland that hung. This color is truly amazing and I can see it being worn throughout the year.

Iris
THIS is my 2nd favorite out of the collection! I am always a purple lover so of course, I love this one!
This is a deep "amethyst" mixed with a pearl fleck in a deep MatteVelvet finish. This combination just makes one sexy polish! I mean...come on!
I used two coats with this one just to cover any spots I had. Also, be sure to wear a base coat with this one. It is super rich color and a lot of pigment in there. If you are prone to staining, this will be one that may get you.

Sue
This is my FAVORITE color from the collection. I am all over this color for the winter! This is such a gorgeous color.
You know how much of a gold lover I am, so it's natural that this champagne gold with the pearl undertones would be at the top of my list.
I actually used 3 coats with this. Not because it was thinner but because I really wanted to make it pop. I love the pronounced shimmer in this color and the more coats I had, the more it popped!

Yves
Zoya describes this as, "a deep sapphire that's midway in between indigo and royal blue with a blue pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish".
For some reason, this color was super hard to photograph. My skin tone does not like blue (or any cool tones for that matter) but it's a shame because this is a super pretty color.
The shimmer is very pronounced in natural light and for some reason, this seemed like it was more of a velvet than a matte. This is another one that would be a stainer if you are prone to staining so be sure to put on that base coat extra thick.

The Matte Velvets are so silky smooth and just apply so nicely. As I have mentioned before with these, you have to apply these with a certain technique. I do thin coats with long strokes. I work quick to make sure the coats don't try too much in between. If you are little more patient than me, you can let the coats dry in between. Don't forget to pick up your own here.
