Paint Nite with Hubby

Image
Last week, my hubby and I finally got around to using a Groupon for PaintNite that I bought him for Christmas. Our schedules are super crazy with the full swing of Spring sports, school almost ending and outside play back in action.   I was so nervous on the way to our PaintNite for 2 reasons. 1- I have never been to the place that we were going to be painting. It is close to my house, but at a bar I have never been to. I am weird when it comes to my regular watering holes. 2- I am a horrible artist. Funny since I am a makeup and nail girl, but when it comes to bigger canvases, I bite it.  I was really glad about the structure of the whole night. It was super easy to follow along with and very easy for me to understand. Check and plus! The girl who was leading the class broke it down into 3 easy segments to paint. First was the sky and ground. Then the trees. Then the flowers.  As you can see, both interpretations of colors and shapes were very different for my husband

My March Empties

Image
**May Contain EMPTY Press Samples**  I actually got my husband to NOT throw out my empties. I keep telling him, "yes, they are empty and garbage, but NOT YET". He doesn't get it. This time, I was able to remember to hide them until this post. Ha!! Got you this time, Mike! For this month, I have mostly skin care products, but I do have a few others that I finally wore out. One little note, anything that comes in a tube, I will always cut open and de-pot anything I can get out of it. Literally good to the very last drop!  First up, Hangover from Too Faced . I first tried this last year when I bought a palette from Too Faced. I got a couple free samples and this was one of them. I love this primer. It has a cream based and not silicone which I started to fall in love with this year. It's so much smoother feeling on my skin and my makeup just goes on that much smoother. I would purchase this again. That is when my primer stash is empty!    Valentia Night Re

Summer Goals by Color Me So Crazy

Image
Over the last month, I have been doing a lot of thinking about my goals this summer. Not only for me as a blogger, but me as a person. I have been really struggling personally and professionally lately and I think it's about time that I find out what I really want. I am such a people pleaser that I think it finally has taken it's toll on me.  At home, I have been dealing with just a lot of changes. My kids are getting older. I don't have any babies anymore. I have a school aged child and a middle schooler. With all the crazy stuff going on in the world, it's even scarier being a parent. I just worry about the things my kids have to see and do compared to my; life growing up. I have always been the type of person that worries about everything. I think it has finally caught up with me.  I am more stressed than I have ever been and more worried about things I can't change.  So, to make myself even more crazy...I am trying to make some summer goals. Actually, I a

Jesse's Girl Fluid Shadows

Image
**Press Samples** You have seen so many Jesse's Girl produce on my blog over the last couple of months and I have been saving one of my favorites for last. I have had these for quite a while and honestly, it took me a little bit of time to work them into my routine. Now, let me tell you how.  The Fluid Shadows come in these little mascara looking tubes. There is a brush applicator and the fluid is kind of like a powdery liquid. It's not watery, but not too thick. The Fluid Shadows come in 12 different shades and retail for $4.99 each.   As you can see, there is a variety of colors. I have tried using these in so many different ways and I am finally ready to share with you all how I fit them in to my routine. So, at first, I used them as I would a regular shadow. Mistake. They dry too quickly to blend or mix together. When I tried to layer them on, I ended up with about 8lbs of Jesse's Girl on my lids. The best way to blend these is to do it ahead of time and

**Product Review** Guyyyyssss!! If you are not a part of the PINCHme network, you need to be. I have been part of the PINCHme network for a little under a year when one of my fellow blogger friends introduced me to their site. I recently got the awesome opportunity to share a whole bunch of PINCHme samples with all of you! This is a little example of some the goodies you can get if you sign up for PINCHme . How this works? You get an email from PINCHme with the current sample available. If you like the sample, you sign up for it and and it comes to your house. If you don't like it, pass and wait for the next one. Once a week, you get a chance to get a huge sample box like the one above. Set your alarms, because they go quick. Totally worth it, though! Overall, I love this service. It's free. They don't send annoying emails and I can actually get the products that I want to try. If you want to try it out for yourself, just click on any of the links abov

Apalus Hair Straightener Product Review

Image
**Product Review**  Today, I am so excited to show you a new-to-me hair tool. I am a snob with my Remmington straightener that I have had for about 9 million years, now. I was given an opportunity to share this for all of you on my social media and I wanted to take a chance to share it on here.   The plates are made of fiberglass fabric which makes it easier for the hair to retain moisture and more uniform heating. The Apalus straightener goes up to 450 degrees and keeps an auto constant temperature at 365 degrees. I usually set mine a 360 because I already abuse my hair, so I slow and steady it when I straighten. This straightener also has an energy savings feature. In auto-standby mode, if it's not being used, it will drop to 120 degrees and then heat back up once it's picked up again.   Another really cool feature is that it auto locks at the temperature you are using if you don't touch the buttons for 5 seconds. This is to prevent you from pressing the bu
